Ritual Guide: First Quarter Moon Virgo May 27th, 2023

The First Quarter moon phase is the phase of action. The first block within our cycle where we are tested to commit to our intentions, encouraged to make decisions, provided with the clarity needed to manifest our goals and prepare for the blockage/shift/release of the full moon. With a First Quarter in Virgo, it can be beneficial to engage in those neurotic, gold personality organization techniques. If you do not already, engage in a planner. The New Moon, you set general goals, desires and called out your heart’s wishes. With the First Quarter, it is time to use the clarity received to schedule in time for yourself to accomplish your goals and align your day with your manifestations. However, with a Gemini Sun transit, the rigidity of organization may feel like torture. Find adaptability within your scheduling. Ensure you are planning your goals around social events. Work hard, however the best way to achieve your goals will be through networking this Gemini season.

This could be a great time to schedule or plan social events that align with your dream life. If you are manifesting a successful business? Plan an event related to your business or a simple promo party with close friends and family. Ask them to bring guests to expand your ideas. (There is potential to plan this in coordination with a foresight to the last quarter release). The event does not have to be huge. Do not stress yourself out and over book yourself with this Virgo energy. Find the balance of structure with free flowing fun. The emphasis will be on your communication, your networking. Focus more on your throat chakra. Open up your voice and proudly show the world who you are, why you are important and why you are what they are looking for. This can be applied to whichever focal point you have for your manifestations, whether love, success, money, family etc.

This may sound scary to some. Especially if you struggle with confidence in communication. What would be rituals to utilize if you are not at that level of expression? Wear blue shades of clothing, wear blue make up, dress in blue crystals. Engage in that fun airy expression of self by utilizing tools that align with your healing work. This is a great daily ritual to complete within any theme of the day, week or lunar cycle. Reflect on the communication errors lessoned from this last Mercury Retrograde. As we close out the post shadow phase, integrate those lesson within your new shift of self. This can be done by actively taking steps to communicate with someone or correct a chaotic situation, or it can be noted/shifted mentally or within a journal. I find it beneficial to acknowledge with gratitude all shifts, no matter how large or small with a simple offering. It can be incense, a moment of silence or a cleansing breath.

A visualization and creative approach, could be to draw a microphone or megaphone figure, or purchase a physical representation. Next, draw, write, color and decorate the item or picture with mantras of your communication and networking goals. This can be placed upon your altar with the intention of enhancing your throat chakra, integrating your highest self into your social engagements through your voice and attracting what you desire. This could be considered in the realm of Siren Magick through the symbolism. To add an extra step, use the microphone/megaphone and state the mantras you decorated the device with. If you used a drawing or 2D figure, voice/sing the mantras allowed.

During this phase of the cycle, the first thoughts of self doubt may arise. This is where our specific rite begins. I personally have felt that with all the intensity, with all the power presenting itself within all the work I have been accomplishing for myself, a protection ritual is necessary. It is good spiritual hygiene to have a daily cleansing/protection set up. However, as the first quarter illuminates, as the action packed plans begin to dwindle in procrastination and repetitive behaviors, it is vital to strengthen the wards around your sanctuary. This is the balance act of the Gemini/Virgo alignment. Do not become too rigid, that you are impenetrable, that there are no visitors allowed, that your energy field is unwelcoming. Not all energies seek to destroy you. However, do not blindly trust and word vomit a bullet through your own foot. The key word is networking. This can be viewed similarly to the show Succession. It is not simply who you know. It is a beam of who you are and who you know synchronized for success.

How do we ritualize this? How do we protect our voice? Our network? It is important to note that there could be snakes within the industry. It is difficult to discern who to trust. Clear up any intentions that are not perfectly balance if you have received any insights. Write out strict boundaries of the energies you wish to network with you. Be specific, yet open minded. You may be surprised who has interest in you. It is important to ensure your manifestation is presented in perfect ways that will bring you bliss and peace, not further frustration. Be mindful.

Once your boundaries are written, use a black or dark colored marker, paint etc etc to draw a boundary around your boundaries. Place a Kyanite and a Black Tourmaline stone within the paper(s). Roll the paper with the crystals (size does not matter) and bind it with string. I personally would wrap it around 7 times, however feel into which you prefer to do. You can anoint with protection oils if you desire. Now, if you still have your moon water cup on your altar with your letter, you can place the new bound message above your letter that has been soaking, if not completely absorbed by the water. You can stir the papers in the water. Say a prayer of protective intent for your boundaries over your manifestations/intensions. Add earth from outside, preferably the ground of your home. If you have sand, dirt, grass, rocks etc etc it does not matter, what matters is that it is from your sanctuary. Once the earth is placed into the container with the papers, continue to add earth until the water is absorbed or neutralized. Place a selenite crustal on the top of the earth. Close out your ritual with a smoke seal and place on your altar.

If you decided to bury your letter from the New Moon, go to the area of your yard where you buried the letter and add your new items as a top layer. You can add protective herbs into the ground as well if you wish. It is important to ground these intentions with the earth. Whether you wait until the Last Quarter, or add to the earth with each phase, it does not matter. It is only necessary to close out this cycle within the earth to allow the other astrological components, such as the Taurus energies, to connect to this cycle. This ritual will provide you with a clear visualization of the safe, in perfect ways for you, networking environment you are calling to align with you.
