Aries Ritual Guide

Welcome Ghouls and Demons to this month’s ritual guide. A cycle filled with realigning with your new self and establishing set goals to achieve all you truly dream and desire. With Saturn moving into Pisces and Pluto entering Aquarius, it is a revolutionary time to change not only your inner world, but utilize that individual power to lead the collective into a new world. This is a time to establish community and how we all can come together to within our soul journeys and individual self expression within compromise and conflict resolution. This the the cycle to establish intentions to project a new year filled with collective love and balance by establishing that within yourself. We shed a lot of karmic skin last astrological cycle. It is time to put all those lessons to use and build the foundations to our new life. To rise from the ashes, to exit our tomb and return to the earth, the people and share our lessons through example, by making a stand for ourselves and the life we truly wish to live while simultaneously having it become mirrored in our interpersonal relationships which will extend unto the collective as well.

New Moon:

This is our true new year and time for resolutions. This new moon ritual will consist of setting your routine, goals and dreams; similarly as typicals do on January 1st with the Gregorian Calendar. As we had our Ostara or Spring Equinox ceremony the day prior to this ritualistic day, you may not need to complete the new moon cleansing ritual always recommended, as Ostara involves spring cleaning. However, if you did not do so, I would suggest cleaning, cleansing and putting on a refreshing citrus like simmer pot.

I suggest writing out, drawing pictures or any other form of expression to set your intentions with what you dream your year to be like. Be specific to your wildest imaginations. It is best to utilize that romanticism or “delusional” Pisces energy and call in your highest, most authentic time line. The time line of your dreams. Be honest and pure of heart when deciding what it is you truly wish for. Ensure you have carried forward all the lessons you have learned form the previous cycle. Bring forth your new reborn self into these intentions. If you discover any residuals of your old self that you wish to purge further, write them off to the side. I tend to choose writing as my expression. However, attach your personal passion or form of self expression.

I will be writing out my intentions inside a personalized dream journal for this ritual. With the childlike Aries passion all intentions should be filled with life, almost impulsivity like a child excited to be, excited to experience. You have been reborn. You are someone new, someone you know you desire to be. If you did not already do so with Ostara, realign your entire routine to reflect that newer, fresher evolved self.

New Moon days are days I like to craft candles for myself as well. Candles for the entire cycle if possible. If you have a specific tool or art you utilize within your craft, take the time today to engage within that for yourself. I know I can become too busy with the mindset of business as I sell my Wyrd Candles. It has become important for me to ensure I craft some for myself a few times a month at the very least.

With my dream journal I will use a smoke summoning to bring these intentions to life with the power of air. I will light a candle in connection to my dream journal and place it upon my altar. The remaining pieces of my old self, I had left off to the side? I anoint them with banishing and cleansing oils and herbs. I then place them in a fire safe bowl and I burn them away from me. Manifesting can be aligned with manifesting the banishment of the old and nourishing that of the new. I personally focus my intention on that continuous duality.

I would pull a tarot spread, or choose another preferred form of divination, to assess what it is I need to focus on for this cycle in the monthly cycle context as well as the year. To introspectively determine if my intentions are pure of heart. Listening carefully to my guides as I build my tower for month and my year. This is a great time to begin starting your calendar planner and setting the tone for your organization of the year. If you do not already align yourself with the cycles of nature, this season would be a great time to start and balance out your soul calling circadian rhythm. Write out mini journal entries for reflection of your years predictions. This new moon phase is the foundation to your year. The rituals themselves may seem mundane this go around. However, with the start of the new year and the fresh rebirth, it is more than important to set yourself up for the most success and tie in that go getter force within this human experience. You wanted a life of magic, it is time to ensure you make it so.

Just as I do for Ostara, New Moons I will cook a sacrificial meal and place an offering upon my altar. The Ostara offerings are that of celebration, the new moon offerings are that of energy exchange for assistance in helping you achieve your goals and dreams. Assistance in guiding you along your path and the genuine decency of gratitude. For this Aries New Moon I will be offering a sirloin roast with a wine sauce. Due to the holiday alignments, I will be utilizing the left overs from the Ostara mashed potatoes to side. This may sound cheap and disrespectful to some? However, it bridges the powers and intentions of both the Spring Equinox and the New Moon. The other side dishes and desserts from the Ostara offerings assist in connecting the magical intentions and workings. For me, this season is a two day party that can be have rituals spread out through both days to give yourself peace, rest and time to build a sturdy foundation.

For me personally, I truly died last cycle. My tower was completely destroyed and uprooted. I am starting anew, especially as I equally enter my Saturn return. This is where the emphasis on building my tower comes from within this cycle, as I share my personal experience with you all. For those who have a tower that was mildly damaged, or in a simple need of a refresher, depending on your personal journey? This Aries New Moon is the planning phase of your inner renovations. How can you enhance and advance your tower?

Aries season is all about action. However, New Moons are all about observation still. This is the planning phase, we are not yet in the action pack push of the first quarter. Remember to rest as you equally were just born in a sense. No matter where you are in your journey, whether it is rebuilding an entire new tower or revamping it up. Do not pressure yourself to run before you can crawl. Meditate on this day and feel into your new sense of self, your new gifts and your new consciousness. This new moon phase is all about setting the tone for cultivating or furthering your big picture. From the new moon to the first quarter, I would explore, play and experience life through observation of the foundation of new life you are desiring to manifest into your world. Make connections as to how your daily life and routine will benefit the collective. Do you need to make sure you’re more in the public eye? Or less? Do you need to reassess any bridges to burn? The Aries fire will give you the courage and compassion to unapologetically follow through with what you desire for your life.

This all can be a long winded way to create the vision board to your year with magickal tools. I only hope to set the tone behind your personal creativity in this manner. I hope to not be too vague in the ritual this phase of the moon. There can be a multitude of ways for you to achieve this success through visionary action and manifestation. Maybe this phase you simply gather in inklings of desires in how you want to complete your magick cycles if you do not already have a set routine, maybe it is time to reset your magickal routine. This moon is filled with the voided pool of opportunity. Utilize that Aries courage to observe them all, like a child experimenting with which toys or games they want to play with.

First Quarter:

Our First Quarter moon is in Cancer, the action packed moon of intuition. This is our action execution, however remembering to engage intuitively and through feeling. This is the moon phase where it is important for us to lean into our self parenting energy and skills that we had refined or built throughout the last cycle. Cancer can be considered the mother energy in a sense. I would love to strip those gender roles and promote a nurturing energy of general parenting. This does not mean that feminine nor masculine roles do not have a specific role to play in parenting. I simply want to detach from the gender specific presentation and utilize a more balanced approach within our masculine and feminine intuitions. We want to strive for action packed balance.

This is the ritual designed for establishing the smaller, nurturing goals to achieve our “big picture.” Take your vision board, dream journal, yearly tarot cycle reading etc etc. Whichever medium you chose for your new moon. It is time to feel into the best self nurtured and parenting way to accomplish these goals. Break down each month and have a generalized idea of which directions or plans you have to achieve your success through the year. We want to ensure we have a balance of rest, pleasure, joy and discipline. If it is too overwhelming to plan out the entire year with small goals, it is totally okay to create a plan where you look only 3 months a head of time, maybe even only a month at a time. Either way, trust your intuition and meet yourself where you need to be.

I personally will be utilizing this time to have monthly and weekly goals that I will write in a manifestation planner. These are my initial goals and plans. I ensure I am open to these plans changing or adapting as the year unfolds. This is where your tarot readings or other form of divination from the new moon can assist you in planning out goals without knowing what the future will hold. You will have your general focus. To provide a metaphor, if you are renovating your entire tower, or have building plans to structure your tower, which rooms are you starting with? Which rooms are going to be saved for last? What are the final touches you cannot complete until the end? This will give a strong mental image to direct your planning for yourself.

To redirect to the Cancer energy of this moon phase, it is equally important to establish goals for your self love and care. We can bring back in the mother energy of Cancer for this phase. Do not become too masculine in the achievement of the Aries sun. When crafting these action packed plans, remind yourself to equally surrender to the softer side of life. With this water energy we want to focus on flow. Cancerians are stereotyped to be moody. Why do they become moody? When they sense and feel they are off balance in one way or another. Either they have put in too much focus on their project and haven’t eaten or they are in need of a nap. Common depictions presented in too many memes. They emotional become pinchy when there is any turbulence. Like water, they are easy to disrupt.

If you are not already self aware, meditate on being able to determine your telling signs that you need to regulate. Allow yourself adaptability within your flow. It is important to have discipline when ramming through your goals. Cancer reminds us to remember how we feel at this time. We do not want to burn ourselves out right out of the gate. Our action planning of the Aries transit meets the human nurturing needs of the Cancer. The new moon may have been filled with career like based plans. Cancer is adding in the goals to achieve those goals while equally scheduling in time for meals, rest, leisure. How do you want your daily routine to flow while equally achieving your dreamiest success? Determine your interpersonal relationships as well. Who is your supportive family that will assist you in achieving this success? Whether they simply love and believe in you, or whether they have a service they offer in order to give you a stepping stone.

Lets say you are going to war for yourself. The war is in fighting to have the life you have always desired. You are the King/Queen, who will be your general, your right hand man? Last year we had our soul family present themselves. Use that intuition within yourself to determine where they fit, if you have not already. Add them into your action plans. You cannot do this alone, not because you are incapable, but because as we released and learned from the Virgo cycle last year; we do not have to be everything to everyone, including ourselves. We can surrender to trust within others and relieve the pressure of doing it all, which ultimately repeats a cycle of failure.

A journaling ritual may be beneficial for you to determine these boundaries within yourself. Once you are able to determine your flow, establish a manifestation planner like I stated above. I enjoy the journal in order to be able to reflect as the year goes on. This is my foundation and grimoire tool essentially. To ritualize with spell work now that the basis of the intentions have been established through observation, meditation and planning, I utilize a ritual bath.

I keep my planner as a base, however I will write my monthly goals on 12 separate sheets of paper. You can use slang, code, symbolism etc here to decrease over writing and tiring yourself of making a copy. You may use a computer and print off copies of what you established with your planning phases. Whichever works best for you. We are following our individuality and whichever practices connect deeply to our personal psyche. I will use essential oils that represent abundance, love, peace, creativity etc. Oils that balance out every focus and intent that I desire with an emphasis on manifestation. We are summoning, invoking these into our physical reality. I will equally place in herbs into my bath with the same representation. Specifically I will ensure a bay leaf is placed within my bath for manifestation purposes. You can choose to write your goals on bay leaves vs paper. I find I am verbose and need more space. I fill the bath with all the pampering luxuries of bubbles and epsom salt. Cleansing my aura and allowing it to be open to all I am manifesting. I will equally add protection intentions to protect my manifestations and myself through this ritual. I set the mood with my bath, lighting candles, playing calming music and enjoying some wine. I place the sheets of paper folded, or the strips as they are etc etc. I only encourage ensuring they don’t become sensory and annoying if they are too large or “stringy” on your skin as you soak. Write in pencil or pen, something that will disappear from the paper and seep into the water, but minimally toxic or harmful to you to soak in. The ritual behind this is to absorb all your plans and intentions. Bridging the mind to the physical realm and back unto the body, the aura. Opening and connecting your own manifestation casted circle and coming full circle with your power and determination to create this reality.

Full Moon: Our full moon is in Libra, the sign of balance, the powerhouse behind relating to others and building community. This full moon energy will best be utilized in releasing the toxic hyper independence of our Aries past within ourselves. To release the toxic people pleasing facade of our Libra pasts and move inward and outward with the perfect balance of ourselves being enough for the collective. Take time to journal or mediate on which of either of these polaric traits you may still have, are lingering or you need to bring to light. Write them down with quick key words. If needed, write out a narrative first to determine which key word is most appropriate. Do your best to be concise in your word choice for the sake of the spell. Which is why I will encourage a journal entry before completing the candle spell I will elaborate on below. Find your way to success within this ritual however you feel is best. After all the work of our new moon and first quarter, you may feel prepared and without need to in-depth-ly elaborate. Again, however, this is the building blocks to our year, it may be in your best favor to be verbose now. Assess this for yourself and your most authentic nature for how you learn, purge and express yourself best. This is your tower, your home, your sacred space. Nobody can tell you how to build it or go about it. Be open to genuine advice and peacefully decline misaligned anchors to a vampyric cage.

You will need 4 candles. You can determine colors based off of your own personal symbolism. I will be using red for Aries and a Lavender purple for Libra. You will need two of each. The first candle spell will be a cord cutting. Utilize your keywords from above to carve into your Aries and Libra candles. Each word/phrase/symbol etc onto each candle that align with the toxic trait. Anoint your candle with purging or banishing oils, herbs and intent. Tie a black string towards the mid top of the candles and connect them together. We are releasing the blockages of this bridged pole that is meant to be balanced in harmony. We release the unhealthy urge to break our backs, to sacrifice ourselves. We seek balance within work, life, family, friends, social, hermit and every phase of our multidimensional being. This cord cutting is designed to clear the path and have an abundant, strong flow from one end to the other.

It is important to equally provide yourself some grace. I urge to equally release any traits of perfectionism that may still be lingering within your conditioning. Allow yourself to slowly but surely, determinedly but honestly complete each step along the way. Learning from failure to advance, not fall apart. There was an analogy I had seen online one day. It said life is filled with glass balls and plastic balls. Each area of your life is filled with both. You are the juggler. Sometimes in life we need to drop some balls, make sure that they are the plastic ones that will bounce and not the glass ones that will break. The example in the post utilized parenting as an example. Drop a plastic ball in work to catch a glass ball for your child and equally drop the plastic ball for your child to catch the glass ball from work. Apply this philosophy to all areas of your life. If you happen to drop too many balls? That is where you can assess your community and need for help. Equally for this full moon balancing ritual, you can create a graph or table to write out your glass balls vs plastic balls. Almost like a pros and cons list, but more so a priority list within yourself. Use your own voice to write these out. Do not let any external energy determine which ball is glass or which one is plastic. That is specific to you and not for anyone else to question. However, as always, be honest with yourself in the labeling of these balls. Equally understand that as you evolve, you may change the material of a ball or the title of it. Which is beautiful. Life is not meant to stay the same. It is a never ending process of transformation and adjustments towards perfection. Enjoying the journey each moment towards the destination. Enjoying the journey so much, that ultimately you “forget” the destination for a few moments, totally engulfed into the present moment of your day to day, with the subconscious eye on the prize.

Back to the candle ritual, allow the cord between these blocked traits to be severed. They no longer serve you or your community. This is to show you how the life force of your inner world will reflect outward to your collective mirror. Choose wisely and honorably for yourself with an equal energy exchange for others. The golden rule balanced with a strong boundary filled will. Once your cord has been severed and you are satisfied with the release, cleanse your space. Open a window and release all the energies of those back into the earth to be alchemized, to be repurposed and reborn.

Once you feel comfortable and secure within your space from such a release, express gratitude for your insights and how far you’ve come. Express gratitude for your excitement in building this new life, this new cycle ahead of you. Once your tone is set, carve into the other two candles the key words or phrases for your alignment, connection and openness from the individual into the collective. In how your personal, unique, individual soul authenticity is exactly what is needed to relate to the world with restorative balance. Anoint the candles with herbs and oils of self love, power, authenticity and self expression. Mirror the Libra and Aries candle to unite your inner and external world. Tie a white or light string that is twisted with a black string to represent the balanced poles and scales. Place them at the bottom of the candles to be melted and cemented into the wax drippings. Once the candle is burned and the wax has hardened, bury the wax pieces, whether in a jar or a dirt grave, your preference. Either way, bury them into the earth to ensure longevity for your intention throughout this yearly cycle and into your grounded dream life.

Last Quarter:

Our last quarter release is in Capricorn. The final ground breaking force necessary to move the mountains and dance through the river leading to your castle. I like to view this release as the Devil Tarot reversed. You are reaching completion of the purging to all the lingering energies and assessments that no longer align with the direction of your kingdom. You are free from the chains that had you bound and imprisoned you from the last year. Now that you are free, determined what it is you are wanting to achieve to rebuild your empire, it is time to make that final stand with the power of balance of tradition and evolution. You are bringing forth all the good qualities, lessons and traditions of your past that serve you well. You are utilizing them as the rock, the grounding stability to your empire, your world. The river is being crafted from the dreamy passion of your heart and your emotions from the Cancer first quarter and creating a sanctity, a mote if you will, around your castle. The perfect balance within earthly pleasures, desires, responsibilities and goals. You are achieving your success. Your foundation is strong. There is nothing left to stop you. It is time to rally your tribe and establish firm boundaries. It is the opportunity to smite anyone who genuinely is not on board.

This ritual can be achieved through physical manifestation of conversations and clear boundary setting. Maybe you need to write your tribe, your family, your friends etc a letter to establish your new direction. Maybe you need to write a love letter to yourself to remind yourself of your vision. As an earth sign placement and one that is a master to the earthly pleasures and chains of this world, it may best serve you to be intentional in your human experience actions, more so than before. This is the day to start sculpting the marble, if you have not already. You wrote out your plans, you’ve observed your creative process and you’ve taken action to achieve that success. Maybe now instead of sculpting your honorary statue as a god, you celebrate the ground breaking. Maybe now it is time to remove the curtain from your shrine to the world and allow it to be the beautiful masterpiece as it is. This can look differently for everyone depending on where you are at with your journey. For me personally, it is my debut into the world as the Queen. My coronation, so to speak.

Ritualize this day thriving within the abundance of your earthly pleasures and your power. Take yourself to dinner, toast to your success with a loved one. Complete a loving sex rite with your spouse, or selected partner of choice. Basic in the “bougieness” of the Capricorn god complex. You are the entrepreneur of your life, the CEO who is debuting their fundamental imprint on the world. Do not forget to celebrate your accomplishments and releases, no matter how cut throat they may have been. You fought, broke your back with the ultimate strength to bear the weight of your old world to pressure you into this diamond era.

It is important to complete a banishment ritual while equally completing a gratitude ritual. Provide offerings to your spirit team, your ancestors and guides upon your altar. For me, it’ll be a glass of wine in celebration of success and a totem that symbolically resonates with the dream life I have and continue to achieve. Write a thank you letter and place it with these gratitude offerings.

Establish wards and banishment tools to blockade against anyone who is threatened by your path. Stand firm with yourself and do not be afraid to karmically present the same force being pressed against you. Capricorn is the energy of pushing back for yourself. Complete a smudging cleanse with your preferred herb smudge of choice to cleanse away the energies that will attempt to last minute slip into your tribe. If you are firm within yourself and your boundaries, you will find an easier time to remove these blockages as they present themselves throughout the yearly cycle. Wards can be created through blessed talismans, shrines, candles, plants any of the above. Find your witch calling of choice, if you are new and unsure where to begin with wards. I, obviously, use a lot of candle magick and spell workings. However, I equally am connected to the elements that are within my candles such as crystals, stones and herbs. Ward you sacred space, your castle, your empire. Establish booby traps to shine light on any conspiracy or treachery that may come your way.

Establishing traps can be tricky. There are a variety of ways to do so. It is difficult to share the secrets as then others may find a way to dismantle them. Discover within yourself a tell. It can be a phrase, a symbol or any form of cryptic message between you and the divine to determine. It is important for this part of your practice to be personal and private, guarded with love as a Capricorn would be for themselves and their spouse. Hone in that energy for yourself regardless of your inner placements. A quick example would be to name your castle, your empire a special name that only you or your trusted tribe can know. You may establish a few options, one for yourself and only you to know, and one that your trusted party can join in with. That way you can assess any treason within your tribe, as some energies are trickier than others. Once you have it established, carve the name into the ground of your earth and soak it in water to absorb into the ground. You can bury specific protections jars in each corner of your empire as well. This can be metaphorically or literally. This is always grand to do for your personal home or business. However, you can ritualize this into a metaphor for your spiritual empire, power, etc etc. This can be physically achieved or done through a visualization mediation. You are ready to take on the world as the King/Queen, Emperor/Empress, Witch/Magician you are.
