Mary Shelley and Sylvia Plath
Written below is the channeled Candle Story behind this Curation
Mary Shelley and Sylvia Plath:

When it came to creating these inverted twin pieces, I couldn’t help but feel a connection to the Victorian Era. The floral base felt like a bedside vase or a vase placed upon a writer’s desk. I felt deeply into the femininity of the vessels. Desiring a unique bowl to top them with. I didn’t want something plain, but I equally wanted something seemingly simple. I decided upon the polka dots and the stripes, for they reminded me of Tim Burton, who also radiates Victorian Goth in his art. There was a twist and turn of the elegance of the Gothic Victorian aesthetic and the Spring essence of the Goddesses of the such season. From there I chose colors that seemed to fit the works of each immortal woman. A soft mauve pink for Sylvia to represent the grieving little girl within us all. And a pale olive green for Mary, the Mother of Science Fiction and Frankenstein’s Monster. Both a tribute to the

inspiration they have provided me as a fellow Woman of the Arts. Beaming with beauty, love, healing and grief. Along with the never-ending desire to transmute such emotion into something externally beautiful. To relieve ourselves from the horrors entrapped within our minds. To relate to a world that has deemed us irrelevantly delusional. And to Command our Mark on History.
