"Hekate" Candle Story

Hekate

Written below is the channeled Candle Story behind this Curation

Hekate:

As I was crafting candles, I felt a need to create a few candles for the Deities, Energies and Spirits that have guided me along my path. Hekate has been a significant essence through the entirety of my journey, however more specifically and intensely, throughout this past year. While I knew of a Hekate Resurrection Candle I was crafting, I had felt a smidge of guilt. I have only crafted two candles for her. While I have made a significant amount for Aphrodite/Venus, Lilith and Persephone. For some reason, I have leaned into other offerings for Hekate. Which is not to say I have disrespected her. I was simply sitting in this energy of wonder and self inflicted guilt. I abandoned all other creative ideas and decided to use this vessel for her, as she was obviously present in my mind’s eye.

As I mediated on the reasonings behind this experience, I tapped into my personal love language of gift giving and expressions of gratitude. I personally love to give (and receive) gifts. The entirety of the gesture is beautiful and powerful to me. I will think of every little detail into giving a meaningful gift and I expect the same in return when receiving a gift. I can tell when a gift is half assed to appease me and when it is given with loving, deep thought. I realized that I had over thought a significant amount of my personal workings. Feeling a sense of unworthiness for not being able to luxuriously express my practice to my personal standard. Avoiding certain gifts and offerings out of the feeling that they weren’t good enough. Which led me to not leaving offerings at all. There was a powerful lesson in gratitude and that simply saying “thank you” is more than enough. However, there is something to the thought that goes into gift giving or artistic crafting. I realized it was more than enough to craft something for the spirits I have connected with. Whether for personal use or just in honor of their presence. I suppose this is a similar energy to all the Great Sculptors of the Greek Era. Not to parentify the Gods, but I suppose it would be similar to the excitement/love/honor a parent feels when their child gifts them a piece of their art or craft. To think of thee, to honor thee and to create for thee, is the most Magickal Gift of All.
