"Black Dahlia" Candle Story

Black Dahlia

Written below is the channeled Candle Story behind this Curation

Black Dahlia:

I had decided to allow myself to create “simplistic” bowls for the Memphis Oddities Event. I was struggle to embrace such creations. However, after a few vessels were not working out as towers, I decided that it wouldn’t be horrible to have bowls. I haven’t don’t simple bowl designs in a while. Typically reserving those creations for certain crystal glassware. When it comes to the ceramic bowls, I prefer to utilize them on towers or for a more complex design. With that decision, I started to hold each bowl into both hands and connect to the spirit that resided within each bowl. Perhaps these bowls were already alive and didn’t require me to bring them to life through creation building. As I held this bowl in my hand, I adored her elegant, black essence. I started to hear “Black Dahlia” by Hollywood Undead play in my head. I had not listened to that song in quite some time. It felt like ages.

I knew her name from that moment on. Now how would I choose to design her? As I placed the bowl upon the creation mat, I looked up to see my bag of Violet Flowers staring back at me. They were mixes of purples and pale pinks. It was magick from there. A candle topped in the shape of a Witches’ Crescent Moon- with every element of wisdom, feminine oracle power and beauty. She was soft, delicate, goth and bold. Concluding her design with two Jasmine Stars. Which could equally be viewed to be her eyes. I felt as if the Feminine was not only left to rest in peace, but allowed to be. Allowed to live in one with herself. A release of the pain of all of those who hurt her. A spirit brought back from the dead. Roaming the realm to haunt those who thought they could kill her.
